If I were a character in this book...
If I were a character in this book, I would appreciate everything that Teddy Roosevelt is doing for the country. I would try to go and meet him and thank him personally.

After reading this book, I now understand…
that the conservation efforts put forth by Roosevelt and Gifford Pinchot made vissionaries with ideas that came to fruition, years before their time. To this day we are still fighting industry and commerce to be greener and for US citizens to be more aware of the impact they have on this earth. These are the ideals Pinchot, Roosevelt and many others were trying to push as far back as the 1880s. Have we really made any progress at all?

If it were up to me...
If it were up to me, I'd go back in time and save even more land. Teddy Roosevelt did a lot in preserving lots of national forrest land and creating habitats for birds and other animals. I wish someone had done something like that before the late 19th century.

I predict that my book will teach me a lot about Teddy Roosevelt and his passion for and determination to save America's wildlife and the wilderness in which that wildlife lives.
Sentence Starters
When reading a book, it can sometimes become difficult to compute all of the information your gathering. Often times it is easier to think of small parts of the book and what you can learn from each part. Then you can take all of these "learnings" and build them together to try and find a theme or a purpose of your book.
A good strategy to do this is to reflect on your reading from time to time. In this class we're going to use sentence starters. Sentence starters can often be associated with elementary school, but are still a powerful tool that helps to focus thoughts and get those thoughts down on paper...
We'll use these sentence starters to share our thoughts on our particular books...
